Page in WordPress:
Pages are timeless content. They don’t have published date and author. Pages meant to be static means information updated on the page doesn’t change often. Pages are hierarchical in nature. You can add subpages to your pages. This helps to group related pages together. Pages are meant for permanent information like “About”, “Contact” and “Disclaimer” pages.
You cannot assign categories and tags for the pages unless you use plugin or code to add categories and tags for WordPress pages. You cannot style your content using post formats but you can use page templates. This allows developers to customize the look for pages like “Archive” and “Landing pages”.
Pages are not displayed in the RSS Feed of your blog. Pages are not meant for conversation and social. In most of the cases, pages not include comments and social sharing buttons.
You can create pages as much as you want there is no limit on how many you create. Even though pages are static, that doesn’t mean you can’t update them. Pages can be updated as often you want. You can also create a website only with pages. Pages don’t appear in the blog section of a website.
A specific page can be assigned as a front page or main page of your website. You can create a custom homepage for your blog to make it fully functioned website.
How to create a Page in WordPress?
After Login to your WordPress dashboard, we have two options to create a new page in WordPress websites.
• Go to “Pages” in WordPress dashboard and click on “Add New” option to create the new post.
• Click on the +New button and click on a page.
Whichever option you choose the result will be the same and one blank page will be opened.
Next, add the title of the page. Pages are meant for permanent information like “About”, “Contact” and “Archives” pages etc.
In the right-hand side of the post editor screen, you’ll see a Meta box called page attributes. Most WordPress themes comes with custom page templates to change the look for static pages. This allows you to assign the custom page templates for any page. Select the appropriate page template for the page.
Next, add your page content and hit publish to publish the post.
